Yesterday was a lovely day so in the morning I took my camera and went for a walk from Baltasound to Muness around the coast> I went as far as Uyasound in the end but the card in my camera ran out when I got as far as Muness. I realy need a bigger card on the smallest setting I can get 133 photos on it. Better start saving for a bigger one. So here are the photos.

It’s a pitty the weather hasent stayed to same today its windy with drizzel in the air you know the sort that soakes you and you dont even think its raining so its a day to be indoors and try and get rid of this chest infection. Hope you like the photos see you all soon.

I am in no rush this morning so I’m going to start on my post now.

Looks like we are in for another nice day here on Unst. It’s overcast at the moment but according to the forecast it’s going to brighten up and the wind is gong to fall away to nothing again. So all in all another lovely day in paradise. I am in no rush as I’m off to the doc’s at 9:30 so there’s no point in driving to work just to turn round and come all the way home again.

This being Thursday it’s time to start planning my weekend. I think Saturday I will go for a walk down the east coast of the island to see how good it will be for my sister to walk when she comes up next month. With the wife working I just need to get home to cook the dinner in the evening so I can take most of the day and take lots of photos on my travels. Hope the weather holds till then.

Well the doc was full of good news ” home to bed for 2 days ” he said. So off to work I went I’ll take the pills but not the time off.

Got home to find the granddaughter is staying for tea and then she’s off to Brownies so no skating till she has left. It’ll give me a chance to sort out the dogs harness and see if I can get the wife to push the button on the camera.

So there we go did it and stayed upright it wont last I’ll end up on me butt sooner or later.

Now its time to sit and watch telly seeing it’s Thursday and I get the remote only because she goes out to bingo.

Ok the sun is out so we went back to the airport and took the camera. So here are the photos of me on the skates.

Still look a bit unsteady but hayho got to start somewhere wont be long till I’m alowed out on the streets just need to get the dog in her harness to pull me along. Goes a bit against the grain though took me forever to not pull on the lead.

Opps forgot to pick up the camera and I’ve just been out to the airport for a bit of a skate around. It wasent till we got back in the car and I said to the wife ” you forgot the camera” She said sorry try harder the next time. I have to say I am getting better at this skating malarky so it wont be long till the photos start flooding in. It’s been a couple of realy nice days sunshine and everything very unusual for here. Be a bit better tomorow though there will be a bit of a breez to keep us cool.

I’m trying to make an album in photobucket to save me posting to many photos on here. I’ll put a link up for it as soon as I’ve figgered it out. Might be some time as I’m a bit thick when it comes to things like this.

Well I have been a bit bussy of late but should have a bit more time on my hands now.

What have I been up to you wouldent belive. I have nearly masstered the roller skates just got a bit more corrnering problems to sort and I’ll be allowed out on the streets.

I have also had a bit of a holliday. I went for a walk from Glasgow to Fort William its called the west highland way and it was great. I would recomend it to anybody with a small amount of fitness. You meet people from all over the world. The oldes one I met was I hope she dosent mind me saying but she was 75 and had come all the way from Seattel for the 7th year running. I also met a 73 year old man that was out running and he was going down to London to take part in the marathon. I will get some pics posted in the next couple of days. There arnt any of me on my skates yet but they will come.

Well Uyeasound had it’s Up-Hell-AA the daughter moved house and I had a really nice meal in the Baltasound Hotel for valentines night. Now I have just booked my holiday to go and walk the west highland way in April, seems like life is busy at the moment. Now the walk is booked I better get into training for it, the dog ain’t going to know whats hit her.  I have ordered a pair of out of line skates to get the dog walking a lot more just got to hope I don’t break my neck in the process. Will have to teach the wife how to use the camera to get evidence of me on skates. Have to start a debate should a grandad be seen out on the streets on a pair of roller skates. Any thoughts ?

Seems like I have never been off work and that’s only 2 days back at the grind stone. There was a couple of snow showers today but all in all the thaw seems to have started. The wife got her car out of the car park today but I have had to turn it around for her so she can get it out again tomorrow. I took me half an hour to get to work this morning when it normally only takes 10 Min’s. The roads are mainly black on the way home so here’s hopping they will stay that way. The forecast isn’t so bad either for tomorrow so we will see. It’s the Uyeasound Up-Helly-AA tomorrow so we will be a bit light handed at work. Here’s hopping the weather stays fine for them, and would you believe it its close to valentines day on Saturday so for all you romantics out there share the love lol. I have a meal and a room booked at the Baltasound hotel but it ain’t that great I’m working the weekend. Have dug out my tripod so will practice the night shots and see what other settings are on this camera, I’ve only had it for 3 years so I better play with it a bit more. With the clearer nights there might be a good chance of seeing the Aurora boreales and I’d love to get a few good photos of that. Well that’s been my day I’m off out to play with the camera then it’ll be bed time.

Thank goodness that’s over I thought the day would never end. Going back to work on a Wednesday isn’t fun it felt like a Monday all day long. I suppose thats what you get after 4 weeks off.

It;s a great view out the office window so it ain’t that bad. When I got home I had to get the wife’s car out of the car park. Now she can get to work as well or the shops whichever comes first ( It’ll be the shops) Not there are many of them here but 3 is enough for anybody. OK I’m going to post this next photo it ain’t great but it’s my first try at a night shot. Any comments and tips to improve would be appreciated thank you.

Well I better get some rest for another busy day tomorrow
